Help: '01 S40 - Shakes
Hi guys,
I'm having an issue with my 2001 S40, and can't really pinpoint what it is. My car shakes when I accelerate and I can't seem to figure out why. It doesn't really do it when I'm cruising at a steady speed, but when I'm accelerating, or even going up a pretty decent hill, it starts to do it. I feel it from about 30 MPH and above. It also seems to be more violent depending on my rate of acceleration. It's the worst between 45 and 70, almost unbearable. I also hear these little pops from time to time when I turn the wheel far enough, and I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but it seems to be aggravated by me turning right. I think it might be my transmission mount, but I need others opinions. I've also been told it could be a ball join, tie rod, dead shock, or even my fuel to air ratio. Although I don't believe it the fuel to air ratio because it doesn't act up at all when it's in neutral. What do you think? Any input will really help me. Thanks in advance.
