HIDs and DRLs?

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum, because I've got a 2002 Volvo s40 on my hands. My first question would be about HIDs which I plan on installing. I know the lenses were made for H7 bulbs and so I will iget a 4300K H7 kit to accomodate. My problem here would be that these same lights are used as my DRLs and I don't want to kill the bulbs because they're expensive.

Is there anything I should know about how to reroute my DRLS to be my highs or even my fogs?

1. Welcome

2. You don't want your DRL's to be in your High's to beign with. Two you don't want them as your foglights either.

There is a reason why they are in your LOW beams. You should have no problems with them being your DRL's.

Are you telling me that having my HIDs as my DRLs will not blind anyone? Is completely safe? And it's good and safe for the bulb life?

I am saying there shouldn't be a problem.

there is a way to disable the DRL's..it's pretty simple. turn car to on position (2 position), turn parking lights on (middle position), pull turn signal lever towards you and hold, turn car off, release lever, and wa la...no DRL's... to re enable them, reverse process...

And before anyone goes and starts giving me hell about safety and DRL's ..blah blah blah... keep in mind that Volvo made this possible and made it quite easy to do, if they didn't want the consumer to have the choice they wouldn't have made it possible.
