Sorry im new to this, but what does 'maf' stand for lol?

And also does it matter whether car was just running recently, or whether the engine is warm or cold in order to check if any fuel drips?

to check for fuel drips you will want to let it sit for about 30 min. if it drips as the car is running or right after you shut it off, it is REALLY blown bad. and remember you will need to remove that vac line in order to see drips, it wont be leaking else wise.
