Iridium Sparkplugs and K&N Airfilter
Hi there,
I just got myself a 2002 S40T (B4204T3) abd I have just done the 105,000 km service. Just wondering if Iridium sparkplugs and a K&N panel filter replacement will improve the performance of the car. Anyone found any improvements with the K&N panel? Appreciate your thoughts on this.
Cheers,
Merrill

With the additional air flow of the K & N filter I think you will improve the performance. It may not be noticeable but it will improve. Also, when you look at it in the long run the K & N is probably cheaper than replacing a paper filter. Don't know about the plugs though.
Thanks for that! Do you reckon I need to reset the ECU after the filter has been installed or driving around for while will allow the computer to adapt?
Thanks a lot for the advice you have been giving!!

just bought 2001 s40.
immediately i change air filter to k&n and last weekend, i changed the spark plugs to iridium lx.
wow, it is very very very noticeable.
highly recommended. ( now, i want to use iridium to my all other cars)
gas mileage improved a bit after using k&n but i have got to the point to check after spark plug change.

ngk bkr6eix 6418 and i did not have to adjust the gap.
i used a torque wrench and apply some anti-seize(?) oil.
first time i started, the 'check engine oil' was off. i drove it for a while then it was off. i assume that computer was adjusting something.
