Attempting to lift my 2009 volvo s40 for the first time. Looking to confirm the jack points for a hydraulic jack and placement of the Jack stands under the car once it is up in the air. Thanks for your help all.

have you consulted the owners manual? Not sure about your specific model but usually there are markings along the rocker panels where the car's jack goes. Look for a weld seam near the rocker and avoid flat body panels and never put a jack under a suspension piece like a control arm. you can also look for stout metal parts like subframes etc where the frame to body bushings are. Post up how you make out.
