Lights and engine went dead
 

Hi,

On the way to work this morning the lights went out and the engine shut off then back on quickly like nothing was wrong. I kept driving.

After a few minutes it did it again. When I pulled into the parking lot the car shut off and no lights on the dash or anywhere. I turned the key off then tryed starting the car. Started fine like nothing was wrong.

Headed back home because of a storm coming. I drove 38 miles and it didn't do it again.

Any ideas? Any relays somewhere that could cause that? There are no engine codes either.

I would check all battery connections and make sure the starter and alternator wires are tight.
Also if you can check the alternator output.

Checked all those. IOne thing I didn't mention was when the car shut off in the parking lot, was the only light that can on for a few seconds then when off was the Immobilizer warning light.

Could that have caused the problem? Not sure what that can do? Never seen that lite come on.

No that will not cause it. The Immoblizer only works on start up and thats it.

Maybe the electrical part of the ignition switch is bad.

Are there any relays in the car that might be the culprit?

Possibly but not many will cut all power like that. Try wiggling the key while the car is running and see if it acts weird.
