The early 2000-2004 models have many of the same problems. The 2004.5 and up are fairly reliable so far. Known issues are PCV system failure (has extended warranty), dim headlight relay burns out, sunroof drain clogging, a/c compressor shims, fuel pressure sensor. All items are DIY friendly with proper tools.
I like my 2005 T5 AWD so far. The timing belt is due at 120k miles. I have been able to fix everything myself. 2007 and up models have connections for an MP3 player and a better AWD system if you get the T5 AWD. Changing the spark plugs is more difficult as you have to remove the intake manifold (so I've read).
Anyone else?
