Default Looking to re-wire harness to coil packs

Hey there - new member first post... regarding a 2000 S40.

Has anyone had any luck finding any replacement partial wiring from a supplier or other source for re-wiring the section of the harness that feeds the coil packs?

Previous owner or prior tinkerer looks to have messed with this wiring and I now have some exposed wire near the coil connectors. I'd really like to replace this with new connectors and wire. According to Volvo Parts - Authentic OEM Volvo Parts direct from Volvo Parts Webstore | VolvoPartsWebstore.com this is only available on a $1400 engine harness replacement! Looks like that's out. I'm curious if anyone has done this before? BTW, looking to solve random miss and have already researched and/or fixed all usual sources of this problem.

Please, any ideas greatly appreciated!

Steve,

I had to repair the coil wire wiring on my son n laws s40 B4204T2. The wires and connectors at the coils were burnt up. I cut everything back and spliced on new wire and new push on connectors, soldered then shrink wrap. The coil wires are shielded cables and they were OK. If I had it to do over I would order a new harness. Vol Parts Web Store p/n 30864977 $ 128.66 I did not call them, but the tag on this harness gave me the part number.

Take Care,
MEL

Thanks Mel,

I actually did exchange messages with Volvo Part Web Store and they eventually also came back with that same information. You actually saw that label on your current harness? I'll have to look a little further at mine.

Thanks,
Steve

Only if you want the engine to run.

there's only 2 coils in a Gen1 S40 so you have a 50/50 chance :-)
