Default New to the forum and want to know how to gain low end speed

Hi guys. I am new to the forum and to volvos. I recently purchased my first(a 2004 volvo s40 old body style) and would like to get suggestions on how I could get more low end power. I want to gain accelleration(torque). But I will also take any suggestion for perfomance mods. Also if u have any cost effective Ideas that would be great!I have the 1.9 liter low pressure turbo intercooled 4 cylinder engine.Plus I would like to get ur seasoned and valued opinion on my purchase. I have always wanted a volvo and would just like to here your guys reviews on the year of s40 I purchased and the engine it has. The car has 50k miles on it and is in great condition(sorry in the pic I have up the car is a little dirty I live in washington and the weather hasnt been great!).So any words of wisdom would be appeciated. Thanks!

Check out this link for a bunch of aftermarket sites: https://volvoforums.com/forum/general-volvo-chat-5/volvoforums-resources-thread-7317/

Good companies: IPD, EVOLVE, EST, VIVA...etc.

Now for low end pwoer and torque....check into a CAI setup, and a Turbo-back exhaust (an upgraded downpipe will lose a little low end, but the ECU will give it all back +more!). Then get a ECU upgrade from IPD, BSR, VIVA, Hi-Tuning.com...etc.

Price.....$900-$1400. depends on parts and who you buy from.
