No airflow to defroster?
Hi folks -
New to the board - seems like a great resource, especially since I seem to end up wrenching on my wife's Volvo more often then not!
I'm looking for some guidance on a problem we're having with the front defroster in our 2006 S40. She has the manual climate control. All fan speeds work, all temps work, and all other vents (floor, dash, etc) work. However, when the defroster setting is selected, there's no airflow to the windshield, and I can hear the air hitting what sounds like a closed damper.
Is there a recalibration process that will get the stuck damper moving? Is the problem mechanical or is it a problem with the actual climate control unit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Got another baby on the way and am trying to keep this thing out of the stealership and do the repair myself to save some bucks if possible.
Thanks!
