Occasional erratic idle

I have an S40 T4 Sport Lux Volvo which occasionally idles very erratically, from almost cutting out to about 1200rpm, it recently had a new MAF fitted to it but this has not cured the idle problem. I have had the fault codes read and they are:
Mode 3, Static errors:
*P0102 Mass or volume air flow circuit signal too small
Mode 7, sporadic errors:
*P0102 Mass or volume air flow circuit signal too small
Number of faults: 2
The engine light is not on.
To reset the fault all I need to do is to turn off and restart the engine, Idle then returns to normal.
The car also feels as if it has lost power, and occasionally the ABS warning light comes on and will not switch off, until like the idle fault I switch off and restart the engine.
Can any one help please??

Hi, I have a 2000 v70, i recently had the same issuse idle drama's
This may sound stupid, but have you checked all your fuse's & relay's
I pushed two relays in that had become misplaced over time, and it cured my issues.
It may be something more but start with the basics, it worked for me.
good luck

Have you replaced any relays?
Software upgrades?
I'm not sure if replacing the MAF needs a software upgrade..But i would say it would!!
Was the work carried out a a Volvo dealership?
Why don't you go back to where the car was repaired and have them look at it , they did'nt fix it right.
Good luck

Hello,
I've replaced no relays or had any software updates; the MAF was replaced at a reputable engine tuning shop after reading the following autologic fault codes:
0025 – Long term fuel trim.
0013 – Mass air flow sensor signal.
0014 – Mass air flow sensor. Faulty signal
They carried out several tests on and off a rolling road before replacing the MAF and at the time it cured the above codes.
It was some time after the other codes showed:
Mode 3, Static errors:
*P0102 Mass or volume air flow circuit signal too small
Mode 7, sporadic errors:
*P0102 Mass or volume air flow circuit signal too small
I know it is inevitable that the car will end up back at the tuning shop but I thought I would try and see if there was I cheaper alternative by asking other Volvo owners if they have had the same or similar faults, and what they have done to cure them
Cheers

Is the MAF the same one as the one they replaced. I suggest having them check everything over and see if they missed something. Are mods done to the car.... likea blow off valve? If so check that first cause it might be leaking causing an idle problem. thats what happened to me while back and i took it out and my car works fine again
