pnp switch error vs 0705 input speed?
good day all,
I have spent several hours trying to find a direct remedy for the 0705 vs PNP switch issue I have a 2002 volvo s40 with about 70K original miles, today while parking after driving without any issues at all, upon going into reverse while parking both the W upward flashing lights came on and the car rev upward then finally engaged and I was able to park but the check engine and flashing and W lights stood on. I "rowed" the shifter several times thru the entire range and was able to turn the W off but now I cannot turn it back on, I drove approximately 50 miles home without a single issue car changing gears doing about 60 under 2k rpm so I know I am in overdrive. upon reading the codes I got a generic 0700 code then I read a specific code as 0705 input speed sensor? I have research that this is attributed most likely to the PNP (where or whom as the best price in stock?) or does this tranny like a lot of other cars has an input speed sensor ?? sorry for being so lengthy trying to describe the problem best as I can TIA |
Google "Volvo 30865937" to find suppliers. I don't know if there's an after market supplier but Tascaparts.com has it for $180... LOL, I'm in the market for one as my S40 is doing random downshifts but hasn't thrown a code yet... The transmission speed sensor is Part# 30618272
