Default replacing a seat nelt on an S40

The seatbelt on the driver's side off my 2002 Volvo s40 is looking pretty tattered. You would expect this since it is used much more than any other seatbelt in the car. Can I replace the cloth or woven part of the seat belt or do I have to replace the whole belt metal clips and all?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Respectfully,

The whole thing comes as an assembly.

It comes as the whole assembly. You can buy new from Volvo and it's about $270. Or you can buy used for around $80-$100. The used part will work and last, but realize that it will be slightly worn as well. The question then becomes which do you choose? New for almost 3 times as much but will last 10 years, or used for 1/3 the price and it will last 3-7 years?

Anyhow, here's a link to a useful video for replacing the seat belt:
