Default Oil dipstick for Volvo S40/V40 1.9 TDI 2001 and newer

Hello,

My oil dipstick broke and I would be very thankful if someone could measure the length of it and let me know (the length from where the thin plastic dipstick starts under the screwable plastic cap, to the bottom and the min/max markings).

I know you are just looking for the length. But you can buy a new one here for $17.43. It looks like the 2000-2004 have the same dipstick, so I can measure my 2000's when I get off of work and I will post the length.

Hey man, unfortunately that is not the dipstick I need - I need the one with a screwable cap on top of it, it's for the S40/V40 2001 model and newer, that come with Volvo engines (the 2000 and older come with Renault engines and have the dipsticks that you linked me to). But thanks for your reply

I'm still hoping someone will measure it because I don't want to buy a new one - the smallest price I could find was 34$. I'm not psychologically ready to pay that price for a plastic cap with a stick - it's manufacturing cost must be pennies.

I didn't break it - the mechanic that was changing oil broke it and didn't even tell me Talking to them would be pointless because I can't prove that he did it, but I could take revenge by doing something nasty like breaking their window LOL but I don't do things I don't want others to do to me..

Sorry, I don't understand your statement..

I ended up buying a used dipstick for 30 usd. I asked if they can give it away for 20$, but the seller said that they break a lot and a lot of people search for it. But I won't go to that repairs place that broke my dipstick ever again of course.
