thanks for replys
- changed the spark plugs couple of months ago coils...sorry but what is coils thanks |
RE: s40 surging when coming onto highway
There is 2 coils that feeds the spark plugs power. They are mounted over I believe cylinder 1 and 2.
Also just because you did the Plugs a couple of months ago doesn't mean they are all good. What brand did you put in? |
RE: s40 surging when coming onto highway
hi thanks
put in bosch double platinum thanks |
RE: s40 surging when coming onto highway
You might want to reconsider running non Volvo plugs. Other members have had problems with them in the past. There are some parts on Volvo's where its best to keep Volvo parts.

RE: s40 surging when coming onto highway
I am having the same problem with my wife's car. The plugs and coils were checked an found to be okay. One difference, when the turbo hits boosts, it's making a whistling sound. Is this a sign that it's bad?

RE: s40 surging when coming onto highway
My wifes 04 with 58,000 is doing the same thing.....I can't see the Tach move when it happens. It also happens when holding the gas pedal down a bit to carry a hill. It's noticeable enough that everyone in the car actually moves when it happens.
