S40 won't start after sitting 7 months.
The car cranks and the engine turns but won't start, hardly even sputters. I checked that one of the spark plugs fires with a jumper cable and i did see spark. The Fuel pressure sensor was replaced and i was able to get a reading of 50-55 psi when a fuel pressure gauge was attached to the fuel rail.
I probably should have drained the gas but i didn't. It shows about half a tank
I noticed some rat poop under the hood.
Any thoughts on what you guys would try next? Thanks for your time.

did you try spraying some starter fluid into the intake? YOu may also try dropping a little oil in each spark plug hole in case you have dry rings. Maybe do a quick compression check to start.... What year is the s40?
It's a 2005 2.4i w/manual transmission. I did try spraying starter fluid but before the air filter. Seems like it did stutter a bit after spraying the starter fluid. I was getting a P0190 code, which is why i replaced the the Fuel Pressure sensor. Could 7 month old gas be an issue?
I doubt it very much. I have several cars that don't burn a tank of gas in a whole year; it's not usual to have trouble at all. The rat-chewed-wires hypothesis is would be more worrisome to me.
I do get compression. Im getting plenty of pressure to the fuel rail. Could it be clogged fuel injectors not opening?
It is possible that the injectors are clogged. I had clogged injectors from a junkyard engine that sat for several years. Of course the fuel smelled like turpentine once I got the fuel rail off.
You can hook up a noid light to make sure the injectors are receiving pulses.

I (removed and) energized each injector while forcing pressurized carb cleaner through them and they didn't seem very dirty. I assembled the fuel rail and saw them work removed from the intake as they should. I reassembled and still no go. I drained the fuel tank using the fuel pump (i removed the starter fuse and held the key in the 3 position) porting out to a paint bucket and added fresh 2 gallons of fresh gas. The old gas didn't seem too bad.
Did you check the fuses? I haven't checked the wiring diagrams to confirm but on other cars the injectors are normally powered and the ECM provides the ground to make them fire. No power = no fire.
Everything else being fine then I think a wiring issue as in the mice chewed up the wires. I've seen it on cars that are stored for long periods.
