Sideview mirror Fix
 

So the other night my girlfriend knocks off the side view mirror on the passenger side of her 2004 Volvo S40. At first I figured that it would be an easy fix just get a new piece of glass and stick it on. However, the backing plate is gone, it just goes to motor. Now I could be wrong about this I was only able to glance at it for a second. And it seems odd to me that the whole backing plate would pop off also.

I have tried looking through for backing plates and can't seem to find them for sale, just the glass. Does anyone know where I can find the backing plate and glass? Or is it just gonna have to be a whole new side view mirror?

So I had the girlfriend take a picture of it for me this morning and this is what it looks like. That is the backing plate hanging right? I've never seen a backing plate and it looked kinda smaller than I expected it to.

Wow thanks. I had looked around and not seen a mirror and a backing plate together. I was just about to go through with ordering a whole new side mirror and putting that on instead.
