Spark plugs have oil around them. Any ideas
Changed my plugs today and they all had oil around them. It ranged from a few drops to one plug was half submerged. Any ideas on what is going on or is this normal? TIA

There are two things that are very common on the engine that will do that.
The most common is the rubber seal on the oil cap. Remove the oil cap and use a small screwdriver to move it a little. My guess is that it has never been changed and is rock hard. You can buy a pack on eBay very cheap. Start with that. Next is a plugged crankcase system that would push out out the rubber hose at the top of the head by the spark plugs. With the engine idling and warm, pull the dipstick. If you see a steady stream of gasses coming out, you probably have a plugged crankcase breather box. You might have both. Start with the oil cap seal first. |
