2008 S40 - Purchased as is....
Ok, some I'm fairly new to being a Volvo owner. My wife and I just recently purchased a 2008 S40 $D 2.4I with 92250 miles for our son. I have a code scanner and have the following showing up.
Code P0171
MIL ON
MONITORS
0 Inc
7 Ready
Misfire
Fuel
Comp
Catlyst
Evap
02 Snsr
02 HTR
I am seeing a lot of various post about the P0171 code after reading through the forums. My questions is concerning the remaining information that was listed after the P0171 code? Are they all tied together with that code or do they represent separate issues that I need too address? There is also some issues with the headliner and side door panels, any recommendation for fixing the areas where the headliner is sagging for come loose? There is also the plastic pipes that slides with the gear shifter that is broken, and ideas on a part number just for that piece? Thank you!

The hole in the shifter cover is a rubber piece that has worn out and broken. The reverse side of that piece is notched to flex and wears out over time. Replacement is super easy.
Your codes could all be related. First I would erase the codes and then drive the car to see if any reappear. You don't want to randomly replace parts and hope it works. (I've done it but it gets expensive quick)
The 2005+ 2.4L and 2.5L cars do not have a traditional fuel pressure regulator like the older 2000-2004 1.9L cars. The newer models vary fuel pressure through voltage to the pump. This is controlled by a fuel pressure sensor. If the sensor is faulty, you can get all kinds of strange behavior as the car goes lean or fat due to incorrect fuel pressure. If your lean code comes back I would suspect the sensor first rather than the heated O2 sensor itself. The car is designed to run fat if the O2 sensor fails, not lean which is the more dangerous. So lean to me means low fuel pressure which typically is the fuel pressure sensor. Anyway, let us know what you find?
