Terrible vibrations at idle, but runs smooth?
Someone please help me with this!!!! My commuter car, a 2000 S40 1.9T auto vibrates like crazy at all times, but worst at idle when first started, especially when its cold out. It has all new motor/trans mounts and 2 new CV axles. The tach holds steady at idle and the vibrations are steady which indicates the car is running fine. It feels like Im running solid mounts , causing everything in the interior to rattle like crazy, including the roof!. The car has 170K very well maintained miles. I drive it 105 miles a day and this is driving me crazy and Im tired of throwing parts at it hoping it works. Thats gets expensive. I also did notice an intermittent diesel sound from the motor as well. No exhaust manifold bolts are loose either. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I did do research prior to posting this with no results. Thanks!

Seriously, nobody? Im really going to set the car on fire if its not fixed soon. The colder weather definitely makes it worse. Checked for vaccuum leaks just in case, no luck. If I can fix it, I will turbo the **** out of it and do a manual swap with some sweet BBS' and coil-overs. The future of it is in this forums hands!
All 4 of them. I sat at the bank drive in today for almost an hour and didnt turn the car off. I noticed the longer I sat there, the smoother it got. Once I got going down the road, it got worse. Based on that, the warmer the underhood temps get, the smoother it is and vice-versa. That help anyone towards a conclusion?

All mounts are rubber and all has been accounted for with the installation, its very straightforward and all seems to be just fine on the surface. Ive seen some other random things online where people have this same problem, but no solutions anywhere! Id hate to have to sell the car over something so stupid.
