try slow down or shift up
When I pull the code all that is stored is 300 random misfire.
I've changed all the plugs, cleaned the throttle body, replaced the camshaft position sensor and cleaned and checked the intake adjustment actuator solenoid and it still has a misfire. any help? |
Welcome to the Forum!
What year and engine? Did you replace the coils and spark plug wires? |
Try slow down or shift up
Thanks for the reply, I'm new but have read threads before on this subject but no answer for the cause or fix for it. I bought the Volvo in Oct. this year. It's an 06 with the 2.4i auto trans. As you know it has 5 coils and no plug wires. Thanks again.

A failing fuel pressure sensor will cause problems too. Mine did set a code for fuel pressure sensor though. Just something to think about.

I'm 63 years old and have driven older cars/trucks with carburetors, and if this Vo had a carb then I would say the float was sticking and it was flooding. That's exactly how it reacts. When your driving hard and let off it starts missing, when you top a small hill or incline it starts missing, when you first starts it sputters until it idles down. It just appears to be getting too much fuel. Does anyone know how much fuel pressure is should have?
Thanks |
You are not going to like this design. It uses variable fuel pressure by varying voltage to the fuel pump. The normal mechanical fuel pressure regulator is gone, replaced by the fuel pressure sensor. This sensor is what the computer uses to adjust voltage to the fuel pump. Now I was thinking "lean miss" when you first posted but it could also be too rich. What did your plugs look like when you replaced them?
|
Wet looking like oil or fuel. I've ordered a fuel pressure sensor, that may be it.

fuel sensor
Well, That was a waste of time and money. Never helped at all. The only thing left is that fuel module under the back seat. There was a recall for that when it was mounted under the car but mine is inside. I wish there was a way to check it before I just buy one. Anyone have any other ideas?

Did you replace the coils when you replaced the plugs?
|
No I didn't replace the five coils. I give up, Thanks for all your correspondence.
Thanks again Hudini Gary |
