v40 engine replacement
 

Hi All, I need a new engine for a v40 1.9 turbo, 1998 model, the question is does anyone know if there is a suitably compatable engine in the renault or peugeot range? i'm really struggling on this to get any info so thought i'd give you boys something to ponder on 'cos after reading through your forums it seems there isn't much you don't know about volvo's, thanks guys, Kev....[&:]

You must be in Europe or something if your talking about replacing your current engine with a Renault or Peugeot engine.

Hi, Sure am, Nottingham, England do you not have renault's or peugeot's in the states?
anyway, the reason i asked is mine died and i seem to remember someone telling me that peugot,renault and volvo collaborated on engine design to help reduce the cost on new engine design. The cost of secondhand/used engines is pretty scary over here, thanks, Kev
