my thought is the generic one... you aren't seeing any traces of water anywhere from the sunroof area or the windows...such as a drip?...my thought is next time its raining and your caris sitting..lay some paper towels on the floor board and watch to see where the water is gathering. i had an old car and the front passenger floorboard did this, turned out one of the ac hoses was undone and dripping the excess condensation. guessing this isnt the case considering where it's leaving water, but just a thought. let us know.

I don't see any drip coming but it seems that it isonly the leftback passenger floor is wet (behind the driver seat). It's kind of wierd but I will still continu my research! The soon as I find it I will tell.
Thanks for giving suggestion!

A/C drain might be clogged causing the leak. Then the water is running to the rear. Or the sunroof drain is clogged.

Is there a way to unblock those things... like putting air pressure in it?

Yes but make sure it isn't to much pressure or you will blow the hoses off inside the car.

If you open the sunroof and all the way in the front is like the long channel. Dump some water in there and see if it drians and comes out behind the front tires. If the water flows easy then the drains are clean. If it doesn't flow easy then they are clogged or almost clogged.

The drains empty around the rear wheels.
You can park the car on a little incline and with the sunroof open dump a little water in the area by the front drain hole and let it run back and watch for it to drain out.

Default Water Leak Back Seat Floor

Hi,

I just bought a 2006 S40, and the back seat floor behind the driver is wet. There was water coming out of the vent when it was on high (under the seat), but that stopped. A mechanic told me it was possible that the detailers got careless and water got into the vent pipe. So no more water comes out of the vent - I think it has evaporated by now. I have used a shop-vac to get excess water out and sopped up what I could with a towel.

All that to say that even after I get it pretty dry, it will be wet the next day. I see that you all have been talking about the sunroof leaking when it rains, but it has not rained in weeks, so there has to be another explaination.

Please help! Thank you for your time.

The A/C drain might be clogged.

I haven't used the A/C yet. Does it drain any condensation eventhough I'm not using the A/C?

Do you use the defroster at all? If so then the A/C is on.

Well, yes I do use the defroster. Can I fix the A/C clog myself?

It is a little of a pain to get to it but yes you can.
It is like in the center if the dash behind the radio I believe. You will need to do some looking to get to it. Then pull it out of the floor and either feed a wire or something up into the hose or if you have access to a air compressor blow some air into it and it should release.
