Hi - My cruise control has stopped working. Initially the cruise control light would appear, after pressing the cruise button, but then the light would shut off before ever reaching cruising speed and the cruise wouldn't engage when I attempted to set. Now, the light will not turn on at all. I suspect it might be a blown fuse, or at least I would like to start there. I have read through my manual and the list of fuses and cannot find one labeled specifically for the cruise control. Can someone advise? The only one that makes sense is one that includes several other controls in addition to the Steering Wheel Module.
I have read the other posts about having the vacuum hoses checked too, but thought I would start with the fuse before taking it to a mechanic.
Thanks!

Hi,
The cruise control function doesn't have a dedicated module for its operation and is a part of the Engine Control Module. A blown fuse is not possible, because too many systems rely on the ECM; however, if you have experienced momentary loss of cruise control with a loss of throttle control, you could replace relay FMA2 which is located in the engine compartment.
The steering wheel module could be the problem and you can check fuse 23 which is located in the fuse panel in the left side of the dash board (Behind the cover which is accessible with the door open). That fuse is shared with the Light Switch Module, so if your lights are working and you can control them, then it should be good.
I'm not sure that a vacuum leak would prevent cruise control from activating, but it is worth looking into. I would guess that the SWM is at fault or the button itself has a bad contact.
