02 S60 2.4T AWD - What to be concerned with?

Hello, newbie here. Getting ready to jump into the Swedish pool after 22 years of Honda/Acura ownership. Buying my friends 2002 S602.4T AWD. Dark grey with charcoal lea interior. 61k miles, he just had the 60k service done. Some tie rod end work is bring done under warranty this week before I buy it. At the same time, I'm having the dealer add front fog lights on my nickel. It still has a balance on the transferable warranty, but I'm sure nothing will go wrong during that period ;). Whatissues have you had as your carapproached 100k miles (160k km)? What should I tell him to have the dealer check when it's in there?

Thanks in advance.

Transferable warranty is 6 years 72k miles. Expires in February 2008, or about 10k miles.

And the dealer is ALWAYS willing to sell an extended warranty :D

Well, you're going to want them to make sure the Turbo is in good shape. Also a check on the ETM module would be a good thing. And mine has seemed to pick upa bit of a bad habit. It smokes. Only if I let it idle for a few minutes though. Like after I drive it to the park&ride and am waiting for my bus to show up. It will billow smoke fairly profusely. Not sure if that means it has a plugged up breather or what... Very embarassing though. Oh, maybe motor mounts too.

Engine mounts, spring seats in the front and sway-bar links in the back, fuel door hinge and its spring will probably give you problems after 60K. If it has been serviced at the dealer then they probably have done the software upgrades for the ETM. But you know what happens when one assumes.

If he had the 60k done everythin should check out.... thats like a 600$ servicing, and they inspect everything from what I hear.
