I have 03 volvo s60. Hearing a creaking sound as I go over bumps. Dealer told me that control arm bushings were bad and have to replace them. He quoted me $860 (front control arm bushings and alignment). I thought the price was really high. What is a resonable price for this job?

 

What engine? FWD or AWD? Makes a difference. For a base 2.4 na FWD you're looking $100 for the bushings (Volvo may be higher) and 2 hours labor. Our labor rate is $80 an hour. We farm alignments out but certainly less than $100 for 4 wheel alignment. So...$360 plus tax at our shop. Dealership is charging you double and that's pretty much the norm.
