'07 S60 AWD - Exhaust Bracket of Death

I've had to replace the mid-exhaust bracket (aka Exhaust Bracket of Death) 3x... Does anyone know if the R-type exhaust fix will work on the AWD model?

Does anyone have a copy of TN 25-21?

thx

What do you mean you've replaced it? Just take it off and be done with it.

The TNN for the exhaust bracket is TNN 25-25.
Read the link below. This is what we're doing to avoid any drive shaft and exhaust damage.
Exhaust Bracket Removal - 2004 - 2007 V70R - Volvo V70R

Also, TNN 25-21 is in reference to what's called "rain Squeal". If you're wanting info on that, Here's it is. I also recommend what's in bold from SS.
If you go with the new Volvo hanger, it just loweres your exhaust and it becomes just as big as a hazard as the Exhaust bracket. Just remove the Resonator and put in a straight pipe. It can be done at any exhaust shop for approx $40-$80. I went to a Midas and they charged me $55.

TNN25-21-2004-07-21 Title: High Pitched Squealing Noise, Exhaust Touching Propeller Shaft-- I DO NOT recommend this one, either replace the resonator with a straight pipe or lower exhaust with washers between the hanger brackets and chassis!
Exhaust Conflict with prop shaft (location rear lip of front muffler). DESCRIPTION: Under certain conditions when driving through puddles of water, slush and or snow, the underside of exhaust system may cool down fast enough causing the exhaust to change shape and touch the propeller shaft, causing a very high pitched squealing noise. This noise will be noticed by the driver for only a short time, once the exhaust temperature equalizes the noise will disappear. If the customer should have this complaint a tell tale mark will be left on the propeller shaft

thanks for the response... i guess lowering the exhaust would be worse.. i've seen some bad designs, but this has to be close to the worst.

Agreed. That's why we just remove the bracket all together, and replace the resonator with a straight pipe. Solves all the bad design problems.

This is me getting in and out of my drive way so, you can see why I removed both...

thanks.. but, i look at the length of the exhaust pipe and it is very long to only be supported at the ends. i'm thinking of mod-ing the stock bracket and if that doesn't work making one... such a horrible design...

Your call. You can also ask on swedespeed, but most of us have just removed it entirely and there has never been an issue.

Here's the replacement bracket that takspeed made for the R's. It's a good alternative if you feel more comfortable having something there. And it should be easy enough to replicate with a trip to you favorite home improvement store.

IIRC takaspeed quit making them cause no one was buying them after JRL on Swedespeed confirmed through VCNA that the brackets sole purpose was the attachment point to move the car down the assembly line, nothing else.
