I've been looking online and can't find a solution the remote is dead and I don't have the mastery key on me right now and I can't find a way to get into my trunk. I am wondering if there is a way to get by pulling the rear seats down or by getting in the cup holder compartment but can't figure out how.

In my case the key release in trunk lid above license plate plate did not work.
Opened rear center armrest. Used screwdriver at the top of the plastic cover, pushing it down to release it to reveal interior of trunk.
Yellow emergency release is all the way back on the lid. I couldn't reach that far. So I took a 3' piece of 1/2 inch diameter plastic pipe. You could also use wood maybe 3/4 square as well.
Drilled 2 holes about 1/2 apart at an angle about 45 degrees. Used 2 - 2inch wood screws (because they have a coarse thread that could grip the plastic handle). From the side it looks like a claw on the end of an arm.
I could see the release with a flashlight. I reached in and used the "claw" to catch the release in the neck above the handle. Slight pull and trunk was released.
Hope this helps

I figured that they couldn't open the trunk because the the car battery was dead as well as the remote. The reason I say that is the member was asking about how to get into the trunk through the center rear armrest, so they must be inside the car.
If the car battery was OK, then all they had to do was use the key in the drivers door, and turn to unlock twice. All the doors and the trunk are unlocked and you just grab the trunk release handle above the license plate and its open.
In my case I could get in to the car, but without energy, using the key to unlock everything wouldn't work, neither would pressing the door lock/unlock button on the armrest to unlock everything. Plus the manual release trunk lock above the license plate would turn, but not release the trunk.
I was frustrated and stuck with a dead car that could I enter.
If I could have figured out how to release the rear seatback from the inside of the car. I would have folded it down and crawled in.
I know, long response for a simple answer. But I also know someone who was locked out of their car because the battery in the key fob was dead and they had never used the key itself to unlock the door to get in.
