2003 s60 t5 awd cold start issue!
Sorry guys if this has been covered but i cant seam to find the answer!
First start in the morning after sitting all night i have the issue that the car fires but stalls straight away, then on second attempt it starts perfectly. Now i have replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor, used two cans of Nulon foaming intake cleaner (has mad some difference) the vehicle was only serviced 5,000kms ago just before i brought it at VOLVO as all services have been done with VOLVO Has just had a new battery also I always use 98 octane fuel The vehicle has 78,000kms on it Now i live in Queensland Australia so the climate isnt cold! Any help with this issue would be helpful :) |
sounds like a fuel pressure problem to me. maybe the fuel pressure sensor if leaking all of the fuel over night. thats a possibility. try hooking up a fuel pressure guage over night if you have one.

Im not ruling it out but i highly doubt it being a fuel pressure problem as i have primed it three times left ignition on for a minute tried all the usual things doesnt make a difference it fires within about 2 seconds of hitting the key stalls then straight away when i hit the key it fires right up into life. i can smell the excess fuel out the exhaust once it starts so i am thinking it isnt getting enough air on first start

i have found so far that turning the AC off before starting also helps the problem
