So I got 2006 Volvo S60 2.5t. It’s running really well without any issues. Only problem is that it’s giving the code ECM 1200. Previous owner swapped out the fuel pressure sensor on the engine but code continued. He says that the mechanic he went to told him the problem was the pem. Again it’s having no problems and runs great. Just want to pass emissions but this thing is stopping me. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. I have a icarsoft scanner (for volvos and Saab) if that helps.
ECM1200 indicates the computer thinks there's a problem with the air intake temperature - why are you talking about fuel pressure, and the fuel pump control unit?
For a ECM 2900 - I have seen the fuel pump load percentage be too high - and unfortunately a new fuel pump solves that. Vida's procedure (posted below) is to verify the pressure sensor is sending the correct signal using a fuel pressure gauge, check fuel delivery (filter, leaks, etc), then "try a new pump". But before that read off the fuel pump load as in the last slide - If it's more than the recommended 40% the fuel pump is weak. I have replaced many bad fuel pumps, but the only controllers I replaced were due to corrosion, when they were mounted to the outside of the gas tank (great design!) BTW - this info is in VIDA - A stolen/hacked copy is easily found on the www. Swedespeed has a copy in their OBD forum.

Is this the correct item for this? I saw there is also a sender unit. Do I need to replace this too or just keep the one I currently have/ what does it do? Thanks. The replacement doesn’t look that hard and it’ll be great if this is it

a little update if interested: I replaced the pump today and the pump load went from 55% before to 35% after. Guessing my pump was going out after all. Thanks for the help
