Exclamation 2004 Volvo S60 - Brake Failure

Hi Please , advise if it is possible to use a used bcm on a 2004 S60 ,

I am almost done troubleshooting my 2004 S60's " Brake Failure " Message + No Speedo & ABS Lights on.

What I have noticed on my car is that I can replicate the " brake failure " message after starting the vehicle by applying some pressure to the multi-pin connector on the bcm unit , also if the message is up with abs lights , etc & switching Off/re-starting the car has not cleared it , the I turn the car off , apply some pressure to the connector plug on the bcm & upon restarting the brake failure message is replaced with "Engine System Service required " & engine managment light on , with this message on the speedo works fine , until the brake failure messages recurrs .

I have removed the BCM , opened the plastic cover ( I am an experienced IT Tech ) but I have noticed that this particular models bcm has the Press-Fit pins without solder . I am extremely paranoid about this unit & have handled it with special care & do not want to damage it . I would like to know if these units also go bad where the pins contact the board as there is no solder used as in the older models . I have noticed some guys like Xemodex do repair this particular model as well . I would like to know if anyone out there has successfully repaired this particular bcm using solder in between the pins or if there are other components that fail within the bcm ??

Any feedback - greatly appreciated..

Regards

Trevor
