2006 S60 HU-650 AM Radio not working
 

Hi everyone,

Just got my hands on a 2006 S60 2.5T.

One thing on the car is that the AM radio doesn't work. Nothing comes out of the speakers, its like it's off. Is this an easy fix or am I looking to replace the entire radio unit now? Any help would be appreciated.

It's a common problem with Mitsubishi radios in Volvos. There's a service bulletin about it and it recommends a copper strap to improve AM reception. Sorry, I don't have the TSB number. My dealer fixed my 2008 V70 for free under warranty many years ago.
Replacement radios on ebay are cheap but if you buy one be sure you can return it if it doesn't work.

It's not reception -- I'm aware of that service bulletin. The AM radio literally does not work. Every other feature on the radio works, but when you hit AM nothing but dead air hits the speakers.

I have same issue,I just let it be,not worth from my end.
