2012 T5 Running Light Repair?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey gang,

First post here in the forums. Had an issue during my holiday travels last week, a big ole' rock bounced out the back of a dump truck on my way home from the in-laws and shattered the lens on my daytime running light (not sure if that's what it's actually called, haven't been able to find anything online or in the service manual).

I've included a picture to show what I mean.

Anyway, I have a feeling I'm going to have to pull the entire front bumper in order to replace the part. Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has encountered this issue or swap before.

Many thanks.

The bumper stays on. Just remove the headlight and the plastic clips along the top edge of the bumper to allow it to be pulled forward to replace the light.

I didn't find any answer in this but I figured it out myself. You don't need to remove the bumper at all or even pull it forwar.

I'm guessing this will be the same for all 2011,2012 and 2013 Volvo S60 with the separate LED parking lights aka DRL or running lights.

You need to remove your front headlight. This requires removing the two headlight fastener clips(on top of the headlight) and then popping out the entire headlight unit. Be sure to unclip the headlight wire from the harness as well.

Remove the one popit clip that goes through the radiator support and into the top of parking light. Also, you'll need to remove the lower front bumper panel(the black piece of plastic with the chrome ring, right where a fog light would normally go) with a soft plastic pry tool. This will give you access to unclip the parking light wire from the harness.

Now gently push on the lens of the parking light and it should pop in towards the engine bay. You'll probably need to free the wire from around the bumper that you unclipped for the parking light from where you popped out the lower bumper panel. Then you can pull out the parking light through the cavity where the headlamp was.
