Please excuse me if this has already been asked, but I searched the forums quite a bit, here and elsewhere, and couldn't find this specific issue on a newer car.

My wife has a 2021 S60 T5 AWD with about 23k miles. Twice, while driving at road speeds, the car has just died, like you yanked the coil wire off or something. A message pops up on the dash saying "Engine off not in park". Needless to say, this is crazy dangerous.

First time it happened she was going about 35 MPH (60 KPH) and just out of the blue the engine shut off. After about 15 minutes it cranked and she was able to pull it off the road while waiting on a tow, but then it did the same thing again after the tow driver was there. This time the dealer re-flashed the firmware. Not very convincing, but OK.

Second time it happened when she hit a pothole on the highway and the dealer is saying there are no codes and it probably just shut off because she hit a pot hole. People who know more, correct me if I'm off base, but a car shouldn't just die completely when it hits a pothole. Limp mode maybe so you can get off the road, but not kill the engine. Plus, the symptom was exactly the same, engine died and same message popped up. This time it started up after a minute or so.

Anyone else have experience with this and/or know what to check?
I don't think it is the fuel pump thing since the fuse isn't blowing, and I sort of doubt it is an ignition switch issue since it is a fob.
