AC on one side Heat on other
Guys, I have a 2002 S60 with 127,000 miles and as the title states , when AC is on ,I get heat out of right side vents and cold out of right side.. Anybody know what is going on ???? Thanks Mud

May be too obvious.
This May be too obvious, have you equalised the temperature dials for both sides ?

My 2006 S60 AWD is doing this same thing - A/C works on the driver's side but full heat out the passenger side. I'm thinking it may be a bad air blend motor in the dash somewhere (I think there are 3 of them in there). I've also good vida dice up and tried to recalibrate the CCM and it would not complete... Will be following this thread.

Did either of you fix your issue? I have the same issue. I will try to recalibrate the CCM, but I suspect the problem is a mechanical issue with a blend motor.

any fault codes showing up (or blinking AC/REC lights etc)? My bet is that if the blend door motors are having issues, its likely they'd throw a fault code. What's also possible is the motor is no longer connected to the door (which would not show as a fault code).

mt6127, thanks for the response. I can hear the blend door motors and if I change the temperature, then the temperature does change. The driver's side is just always a bit warmer than the passenger side. One thing that may have been telling was when took both temperatures to the maximum temperature, it properly directed the (hot) air down to the floor, but on the driver's body level vent there was some hot air coming out whereas the passenger side body level vent there was no air coming out and 100% was directed at the floor. When I manually selected the air to go to the windshield only, there was still some air coming out of the driver's side body level vent. I'm not sure what that means, but it would seem to indicate a problem. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

Low Freon
Just had a friend with an 2017 Audi A4 have the same issue. He was skeptical but the dealer added Freon and everything worked. I was also skeptical but in the Audi forums it was explained that the way the AC is set up there is enough freon to cool one side, but its cooling ability diminishes when low and gets used up by the time the air going to the second side goes through it. So the dual system must have duel coils in series.

unfortunately freon did not help my car. I did get my hands on some used actuators. Does anyone know a way to test them before I pull the old ones off and put these new ones on?
