Acceleration issue

Hello members. I have a 2001 Volvo S60 with 242000 Miles and still runs like a champ other than an issue I am having. If I accelerate slowly it is fine but if I try to accelerate rapidly or kick into passing gear The Tackle go to about 4,000 RPM and just kinda bounced around like it's hitting a rev limiter as I let off the accelerator once it's about three-quarters of the way released it will kick in and go. Does this sound like a MAF issue or possibly after electronic throttle body issue? Last night I ran an injection cleaner through it here at work the good kind, running through the fuel rail with the pump fuse pulled. That didn't help a bit. Does anyone have any ideas or where I can turn? As of now there's no codes. Thanks in advance

Just by the symptom you have described, I would have to say you are looking in the wrong area. You need to start on the transmission side. It sounds like the transmission isn't building pressure enough to engage and it is slipping. That is why you are getting the rev until the rpm's come down enough.
What does the fluid look and smell like?
