Rim Selection?
Hi Everyone,
I have a 2004 s60 Awd 2.5t
I have 17 x 8 or 8.5 rims stock on it currently. As we know these cars have tire rubbing issues. I get massive tire rub and I've checked my rollers etc and they are fine. Also my tires are at 245 now but.....
I'm buying new summer rims and tires and i'm going up to a 18 x 7.5
now does anyone have any comments on a size like this also what tire size should i go with a 235 or a 225? would this help reduce the rub a little?
i'm trying to reduce as much rubbing as possible but also not screw myself on ride comfort! I live in canada and we tend to have a lot of bumps in our roads! And I want the 18's because they look nicer then 17s and if i'm going to have rub mine aswell be 18s!
Any help would be great! Thanks!

I have 17" Canisto's on my S60. My tire size is a P225/45/R17. With the 245 you are definitely going to have rubbing issues. The maximum width tire is going to be based on the width of the rim. If you're going from an 8.5" rim to a 7.5" rim then you probably couldn't run a 245 tire any way. Look into the 225 tread width.
