awd rattling noise, shakes
 

I have a s60 awd, 2004. Under dry road conditions I hear a faint rattling noise around 80km and higher. But under snowy and slippery condition (I suppose when the awd kicks in), the noise is much louder and the stirring wheel shakes as well. Also, I had a metal to metal noise (muffler / shaft), which was fixed by adjusting the muffler hangers. The dealer told me the rattling is because of worn out tires. I changed the tires , but the problem didn't go away. I think the dealer is dragging his feet, till the warranty is over ( next april). The mileage is about 96,000 km. Please help.
