Car off, fan running
 

Hi All! Looking for some insight for my 2012 Volvo S60 turbo. Weather has been very hot lately. 2 weeks ago on a hot day fan kept running after engine turned off, did so for over 2 hours. Took to a local mechanic and they replaced the radiator fan module.

Been fine since then. And today, another super hot day, fan still running while engine off again. Been almost an hour now.

Any advice? Not sure what to do next and worried it will kill the battery.

Sound like the wrong part was replaced.

What engine do you have? Turbo 5 or 6 cyl?

The 6 cylinder has a thermostat where the plastic housing commonly breaks (internally) and prevents the thermostat from opening.

Thanks so much for the reply! It's a T6. If the thermostat or the housing is an issue, should I go back to the mechanic or is better handled by the Volvo dealership?
