Cold Start Issue on 2004 S60 *******

I recently replaced the alternator and battery in my wife's 2004 s60. It has the 2.5 turbo engine and is 2wd. After replacing those items it has a cold start issue. Basically every morning it turns and starts but runs real rough for about one-two seconds then dies. After that it starts right up and is good for the rest of the day.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Try first disconnecting both terminals at the battery for 12h (a night).

Also, if this happened right after the repair, it might be some vacuum hose/electrical cable that wasn't properly plugged back.

It might also be a problem with fuel delivery.

Okay I will try disconnecting it tonight. Also I checked and I can't see anything that I knocked loose or didn't plug in but I guess its possible. It does feel like a bad vacuum hose judging by the way it runs for a couple seconds before it dies. But why is it fine after that first initial cold start?

Battery is disconnected.

Hooked the battery back up and it started up perfectly. My wife said it was fine the rest of the day. So ill let her do a few more cold starts the next couple mornings and ill report back if its fixed.

Glad it seems to be fine

It started acting up again this morning. But we might have figured it out. My wife said she let the fuel go much lower than she ever has and that it started running rough. Once filled up it was running normal again. I'm thinking its a fuel pump. It has 180k on the original pump so it wont hurt to change it out.
