Compatible wheels/tires for S60 awd
I have a 2002 S80 with a bad tranny but $800 in brand new tires on 17" rims. My son has an S60 AWD with 16" rims, could he put the tires/wheels from the S80 on his car without causing any problems? If they rub that would be obvious, but I just don't want to mess up the awd system. I do not have the tire size of each vehicle right now, but will update. They are both original factory size tires.

correct AWDs can't run staggered wheels or tires with significant wear differences that influence rolling circumference. The 17 inch wheels should fit fine - assuming your son has the Gen1 S60 (ie pre 2010) the wheels should be either 7J or 9J with a 40mm (ET40) offset on both cars. Tire size should be common to both (ie 235/45-17 on the 9J rim or 225/50-17 on the 7J rim.
