Dealer says...
Dealer says all three computers are fried and they don't know what to do next. They have had the car for two weeks now (Rockford, Il)and haven't progressed. Am I being screwed?

What was wrong in the first place?

RE: Dealer says...
Just as in another post, driving down the highway, all lights went out then came back on. Transmission went clunk. Stopped, turned the car back on and the message center said "ABS Failure, Service Transmission". This is the second time in as many months that this has happened. The first time the dealer replaced the ABS switch, I'm not a mechanic so I don't know any more details. Second time it happened the dealer said there is more failure codes than they know what to do with so they are going to replace the computers. So it sits at the dealer.

That sucks I wish I knew what the codes were.
Then I might be able to help a little more. |
RE: Dealer says...
This can be a very complex issue, even with all the diagnostic info from the car. It's near impossible without some info.
It's not uncommon for the ABS unit to fail and cause the Check Engine Light, ABS lights, and maybe even the trans. message too. All these systems are connected to a network and if that network has a faulty, it can cause problems like this. Please try to get some detailed info, like a fault code readout for all systems on the vehicle. Good Luck 3B |
