This will be my second ETM removal, the other one being my wife's 99V70, and I have a quick question for the forum. Do I need to remove the starter to get the end of the wire out? A few scraped knuckles and I think there is no way around it.

 

need to make a clarification. it's a 2.4 non-turbo. and yes I figured out that I do need to remove the starter bracket. Getting rebuilt ETM from Xemodex later in the week. will post back as to symptoms being fixed with replaced ETM. I suspect it will be good as new but I still will need help fixing the error message that my gear selector reduced function. it appears that it only affects the Winter driving mode but nonetheless it needs to be addressed. Will start another thread if I can't figure it out on my own.
