fuel pump module (2019)

I just purchased a pre-owned certified 2019 S60 from a dealer in the NYC area. After driving it for ~700 miles I saw gas leaking under the car when it was being filled along with strong gas odor. Dealer just said the fuel pump module and gasket need to be replaced. I am very surprised that these parts would be defective on such a new car. Anyone else know of significant issues with these parts in the model or is this just bad luck? Thanks.
