At around 116,000 miles or so my vehicle started to have transmission problems including hard shifting, and trouble changing gears after making turns and sometimes getting stuck in gears. Also trunk latch stopped working and radio changes by itself. In an attempt to correct the issues I had a private Volvo mechanic look at the car and change the fluid, with the correct fluid by the way. After it made no difference. Next I took it to the dealership and had the fluid changed again and also had new software Downloaded to try and correct it. It seemed to have helped for about 2 days and then back to the erratic embarrassing shifting. Its been around 2 months since I had the work done. So today 5/31/13 I drove my car the longest it has been driven since doing the work on it (about 1 hour 10 minutes of driving) and when I went to drive my car after this drive miraculously it shifts like new ..like the good ol days! And oddly enough the trunk worked for a small period of time as well. I don't know how long this will last but can someone please tell me what could possibly be going on with this car before I go crazy! Also I have a small leak in my turbo return line , and a small oil leak. All issues I was avoiding to fix if my tranny were no good as it is an 02'.
