here's my first post.

Have a friend in Ecuador with bad ECU an I'm trying to locate one for him., I have a few questions about it, but first here's vehicle details ...

VIN: YV1RS53K922123391 (2002 2.4l 5Cyl Turbo model, is that so ?)
Engine: B5234T32661460
ECU: 08627757 A

So, searched and found out that ECU 08627757 A it's a Bosch 0 261 207 392

thing is that Bosch's 0 261 207 392 is listed under a few models, including non turbo, turbo 5Cyl, AWD and so on.

So I am wondering if same unit is really interchangeable between all of the above S60's ?
and if so, where can i find one in Los Angeles area ?

No an ECU from a NA s60 will not work for a turbocharged s60.

 

You cannot just find a used one and install it.
You need to get a new one and the Dealer will have to download software to make the car run.

No it is really not common for the ECU to go bad.
