I am replacing the stereo and speakers in my 2005 S60 (without navigation, without cd changer). I want to find a double din stereo and steering wheel audio control adapter so I can still change songs/volume from the steering wheel. Crutchfield does not sell an adapter that works with the S60 and I can't find on my own...... any suggestions? Thanks.

 

Nothing? No one has had a similar problem? I think I have settled on the Pioneer FH-P8000BT. Crutchfield recommends this steering wheel control adapter, however it doesn't seem to work with the 2005 Volvo S60. Any solutions?

 

Did you ever find an adapter that works for your '05? I have the same problem with my '04 and was told by the local dealership that Volvo won't give out the codes for the steering wheel volume control, so installers don't know how to hook up adapters. Apparently it's more than just two wires. Hope that at least helps explain why the adapters won't work.

There is a generic type of adaptor that uses various resistors for each type of function - you have to solder several resistors in for the proper operation. I did this once on an aftermarket door lock system (different car). It was horribly unreliable and would act wonky all the time until I finally removed it.

I've researched this a lot and everyone who used the generic radio controller on their S60 (with the resistors) seemed to have the same type of result
