Iphone connection help for 2006 S60

Hi Everyone!
I would like to be able to play my Iphone (and charge it too, if possible) through my stereo. There is not AUX jack on the front, although I understand there is on back of the stereo.

Questions are:
Is it a more pleasant interface and better sound quality to run that AUX from the back of the exisiting stereo, or install a nice aftermarket stereo with a AUX on the front? The vehicles stereo panel is much larger than most stereo faces, so won't that look akward? I am sure the dealer has some solution, but pricing will be outside of what is appropriate I feel.

Is there an alternative I have not thought of?

Please let me know your thoughts and opinions.

Some months ago, I searched the 'net for this for an 06 V70 which, I assume, has identical sound system. There were a few sites, but no easy, one step installation ones (except the FM broadcasters which I don't want). All involved radio removal, wiring harness install and installation of a small electronic box somewhere (without much in the way of suggestion as to exactly where). Since I am an electronic ignoramus (yeah, I remember points, plugs & condenser tune ups with setting the dwell and timing by hand) I called around for install prices. All totaled, I remember looking at about $500 and thinking, "I don't even own an Ipod and my wife can live without using hers".)

Sorry this doesn't help, but had there been an easy solution, mine would have already been installed. Let us know if you find a new, easier solution.

iPhone adapter

USA SPEC makes an adapter that works.

I believe it's the same adapter that the dealer sells for a lot more $.

I bought one off of ebay for around $100. If you are ok with taking out your radio it's a pretty easy install.
