key fob battery burn?
We park in our garage and had a habit of leaving the key/fob in the vehicle and lived with this phenomenon for a couple of years and then tried something new. We tried no longer leaving the key in the vehicle and what a surprise, no more having to replace key fob batteries. Not sure if you have this habit as well but if you do, give it a try.
So 8 months ago, I changed both key fob batteries with 4 Energizer batteries, 2 for each.
Now both key fobs showed battery low at the exact same time even though I typically use 1 of them day in day out.
After reading the above comment I suspected a short.
I remeber the thin white plastic sleeve that sits between the 2 batteries was damaged and had a cut out possibly where the 2 batteries could touch.
So I traced out the battery on the front of an Aldi catalogue, popped out the circle and stuck that in the middle of the 2 batteries to add further insulation....
I used the same 8 month old batteries and dash had no more key fob flat battery notifications.
