My 2004 volvo s60 wont start!!

Ok so I own a 2004 Volvo s60 T5 that has been showing signs of failure for a while now. First of all the I have several messages that pop up intermittently these messages are: Engine System Service required, Transmission service required, Auto Skid service required and sometimes Reduced engine performance. These messages pop up from time to time and they usually go away if I turn the car off and re start it. I've had it checked a couple of times and no codes come up. Last time they said it was a faulty throttle valve but they didnt replace it they just cleaned it. Anyway, today I was driving my car with no problem at all I parked for a minute and to my surprise when I got back in the car it wouldnt start. The car will crank but it wont start. After i couple of hours I went back and after a couple of tries I was able to start it and take it home. Right now the car will only crank but it wont start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How old is your battery? I experienced all sort of random messages on mine last year. Same thing the messages would come and go and rarely the same message would come twice in a raw. The car always started though. After checking several things I finally tried replacing the battery which was 6 years old anyway and bingo! that fixes the problem. Although the old battery was able to start the car the voltage was a little low and that triggered all these faulty messages. I had experienced similar problems in the past on a bimmer.

Yes, I agree.
Put a voltmeter across the leads on the battery. It should be around 12.4 or higher.
If it's any lower, it's time to replace.
Autozone will check your battery for free if you can get it out and take it too them since your car won't start.
